How secure is the Dignity Plan

Dignity is registered with and regulated by the Funeral Planning Authority so therefore has to comply with their strict rules and code of conduct on the service you receive and most importantly how the money is held.

When buying a Dignity funeral plan your money is held in the National Funeral Trust which is a completely separate entity to Dignity, so if anything were to happen to the company, the trust fund with your money in it remains intact and ready to pay for your funeral.

They are also the only company to publish a comprehensive annual Trust Fund Report so there is complete transparency

Dignity - Company Review

Dignity is the UK’s leading provider of funeral plans. They are also one of the UK’s leading funeral service providers with over 1,200 privately owned or approved funeral directors.

They also the largest single operator of crematoriums with over 44 locations across Britain (you still have access to all crematoriums throughout the UK with the plan – not just Dignity owned crematoriums).

In addition to selling their plans direct, Dignity is also the company behind the Age UK funeral Plan, the Post Office Funeral Plan and various banks and building societies.

dignity Funeral Plans - Our Verdict

Dignity is one of only two companies in the UK to offer a full guarantee for cremation and ministers fees in addition to the funeral directors costs which makes their plans one of the most comprehensive you can buy. This is highlighted by the fact that they have recently been awarded a 5 star Defaqto rating – the highest possible rating for their Diamond Plan.

The flexibility and use of the allowance for burial fees also makes them stand out against other plan providers. Most plan providers will only let you use the allowance for the actual burial or interment fees and if you don’t use it, you lose it. With Dignity, the allowance can be used in its entirety for any funeral services, such as help with buying the plot, flowers or the reception; and if there is any money left over, it is paid back to the family or estate.

Quite simply with the Dignity plan you are paying a competitive price for one of the most comprehensive funeral plans.
